What:
A nonprofit director learned about ice blankets at a regional meeting of the No Kid Hungry Missouri project. Browsing the websites of multiple online vendors revealed several products, including one that would save time and money spent purchasing and setting up bags of ice. Ice blankets are reusable and portable – they can be filled up or drained for more convenient storage and transport.
This initiative was an early, easy solution for an emerging sponsor who has since expanded – for the nonprofit organization that inspired this tool, meals served increased by three-fold from summer 2019 to 2020.
